Sally's Got A One Track Mind

Sally got a one track mind…again another party attended
If you didn’t go, there were others there to show her a good time
She’s hardly offended

Sally be at all the right places
Never waits in line with how familiar her face is
Free drinks at the bar she could already taste it
Never mind the fact that she’s already wasted

Sally has no time for contemplation
Dances by the speakers just to feel the vibrations
Hasn’t got a boyfriend doesn’t need the frustration
Men slow her down and she ain’t got the patience

Sally got a one track mind…401K’s stocks & bonds
If it’s not about business don’t ask for the digits
Never ‘round to kick it since she’s always on the job

Sally sees the world as her office space
No schedule per say but it’s often late
When it’s not power lunches just a box of grapes
No breaks; she hates to make her bosses wait

Shies from office parties… thinks it’s all a waste
Takes charge of every task that gets tossed her way
Hopes to make junior partner in the honest way
Says hard work and diligence is all it takes

Sally got a one track mind…designer baby clothes and bassinets
Now to find a man that fits accordingly with plans
And he can take her hand in marriage should he pass the test

Sally found a man she could deal with
His own law practice. A Harvard grad
Drives a new model Benz keeps with all the latest fads
and both agree they could play the role of mom and dad/

Sally doesn’t want to take maternity leave
Feels the senior partners pressure her to hurry and leave
She’s worried and there’s stress that only working relieves
Doesn’t yet feel a connection between her and her seed

Sally got a one track mind…the weight of postpartum depression
Been waiting for a difference in the way she thinks
But hasn’t changed since the start of conception/
